I have had numerous clients ask me how they can turn off the comment word verification on their blog so I decided to write up an easy, quick tutorial on the subject. Comment word verification requires your readers to enter a combination of strange (and often times hard to read) letters/numbers/symbols before they can leave their comment to make sure that they are a real person and not a "spammer". Comment word verification can be annoying for someone trying to comment on your blog, so I usually recommend turning the feature off. Doing so will make it easier for your readers to leave comments on your blog and you might be surprised how many more people will start leaving comments!
Blogger has come a long way in their spam filters, so they will usually throw any spam comments you might receive right into your comment spam folder. You won't even have to worry about them! Occasionally you will receive a weird spam comment on your post- but for me it doesn't happen often and all I have to do is go in and delete the comment.
So follow the steps below and make it easier for your readers to leave you comments!
Happy blogging!
